Joseph Smith Used Objects to Help Him Translate the Book of Mormon, Seer Stones

  • Joseph Smith reported that an angel told him about an ancient record buried in a hill in New York. When Smith went to get the record he found a Urim and Thummim also called the Nephite interpreters, or the spectacles with the ancient record. Several witnesses close to Smith recorded that Smith used both his seer stones and the Nephite interpreters to translate the record, now called the Book of Mormon.
