In Heretic, the concept of reincarnation is referenced when Sister Paxton expresses a wish to return as a butterfly after death. This leads to the question: “Do Mormons believe in reincarnation?” The answer is no. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly known as Mormons) do not believe in reincarnation. Instead, they believe in the doctrine of the Resurrection, which involves the reuniting of the spirit and the physical body after death. According to this belief, the resurrected body will be perfected and immortal, free from disease and death. This is explained in the Book of Mormon, specifically in Alma 11:45.
